Armadillo Trapping
& Control

Call (727) 277-5831 — Free InspectionArmadillos are one of the most destructive animals in Florida — and one of the most misunderstood. A single nine-banded armadillo can dig 10 to 15 holes in a single night in search of grubs and insects. Over days and weeks, that burrowing activity destroys lawns, garden beds, flowerbeds, and even undermines concrete foundations, driveways, and irrigation systems.
Unlike most pest animals, armadillos cannot be controlled with repellents or bait. They follow scent trails to insect colonies — not food you set out. The only proven method is professional trap placement directly along their travel corridors. Native Wildlife Solutions specializes in this approach, and our results speak for themselves.

Actual Armadillo Damage · Residential Yard · Pasco County, FL
Why Armadillos Are Bad for Your Yard
- ▸Dozens of burrows dug per night, leaving your lawn pocked with holes and loose soil
- ▸Root damage to grass, ornamental plants, flowerbeds, and vegetable gardens
- ▸Undermined irrigation lines — armadillos frequently sever underground drip lines
- ▸Foundation cracking and structural settlement from burrowing under slabs
- ▸Damage to driveway and patio edges from tunneling
- ▸Fire ant and pest proliferation in disturbed soil from armadillo excavation
- ▸Potential disease risk — armadillos are one of the few animals that can carry leprosy
Our Methodology
Our Armadillo Trapping Method
Taylor's armadillo trapping method is built on a deep understanding of armadillo behavior. Armadillos are creatures of habit — they travel the same routes night after night, following established scent paths between their burrows and feeding areas.
We start with a thorough property inspection to identify active burrows, freshly dug holes, and disturbed soil. From there, we trace the likely travel corridors the armadillo uses and position cage traps at key chokepoints where the animal is most likely to walk through.
We use funnel-style guides alongside the cage traps to channel the armadillo directly through the trap entrance. Traps are checked daily to minimize time any captured animal spends in the cage.
Once captured, the armadillo is relocated far from residential areas to appropriate natural habitat. We never use lethal methods unless absolutely required by law.
